LightWorks Home Recipes Terms of Service

By using LightWorks Home Recipes, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

The service

LightWorks Home Recipes is an offline-friendly household recipe organizer. It can store recipes and images, Kitchens and equipment, Meal Plans and completion state, and synchronization metadata in your browser and, after Google sign-in, in app-accessible Google Drive files. It can also restore files selected through Google Picker, share selected resources, generate temporary shopping lists, provide an optional AI recipe assistant, and offer offline Help guides with read-only demo recipes.

Your Google account and Drive

You are responsible for your Google account and for activity performed through it. The app uses the limited drive.file scope and acts on files it creates or that you explicitly authorize. Google services and your use of them remain subject to Google's terms and policies.

You control whether to share a collection, Kitchen, or Meal Plan and whether a recipient is a reader or writer. You must have authority to provide recipient email addresses and to share the content. Writers can change live shared content. A private-copy or recovery operation creates an independent file, and later changes or permission updates to the source will not update or erase that copy.

Your content

You retain your rights in content you create. You give LightWorks Home Recipes and its service providers permission to process that content only as needed to provide the features you request, such as synchronization, collaboration, troubleshooting, and optional AI drafting. You are responsible for maintaining any backup you require and for ensuring that content you import, copy, or share does not violate another person's rights.

Importing a public recipe URL does not transfer ownership of the source recipe, photographs, or website content. Use URL import only when you are permitted to use the resulting content, preserve attribution where appropriate, and follow the source site's terms.

Bundled demo recipes are informational examples. Browsing them does not create user content. Selecting “Copy to my collection” creates an independent Recipe that you are responsible for reviewing before cooking, modifying, or sharing.

AI-assisted drafts

The AI recipe assistant is optional and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable content. You must review every suggestion before saving or using it. In particular, verify ingredient identity and quantity, dietary claims, allergens, cross-contamination risks, appliance compatibility, safe handling and storage, doneness, temperatures, timings, and serving sizes. AI output is not medical, nutritional, or professional food-safety advice.

Kitchen-aware adaptation and normalized ingredient suggestions are conveniences, not guarantees. Do not rely on the assistant to identify every dietary restriction, equipment limitation, or hazardous instruction.

Meal planning, equipment, and shopping lists

Equipment availability, “Fits active Kitchen,” serving multipliers, start-preparing times, unit conversions, ingredient aggregation, and Up Next recommendations are estimates. Confirm that your equipment, measurements, schedule, and ingredients are appropriate before cooking.

Temporary shopping lists are not retained by the app. When you choose Native Share, Copy, or Email, you direct your device to transfer the selected text to a destination outside LightWorks Home Recipes. You are responsible for reviewing the list and the destination before sending it.

Hands-free narration and speech commands are an optional browser-dependent beta. Confirm every spoken instruction and command on screen, keep hands and attention available for safe cooking, and use the visible controls if recognition is unavailable or inaccurate. Your browser or operating-system speech provider may process microphone audio independently.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service unlawfully; infringe intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights; submit content you may not use; compromise or probe the service; introduce malicious code; interfere with other users; misuse Google Drive invitations; evade usage or safety limits; or use the AI feature in violation of OpenAI's applicable policies.

Third-party services and links

Google identity, Drive, Picker, optional consent-gated Google Analytics, Microsoft Azure, OpenAI, recipe-source websites, and destinations selected through your browser or operating system are independent services governed by their own terms and policies. Analytics is optional and is described in the Privacy and Cookie Policies. LightWorks Home Recipes is not responsible for third-party availability or conduct.

The “Buy me a coffee” link opens an external Buy Me a Coffee page. Contributions are voluntary, do not purchase app functionality or support entitlements, and are handled by Buy Me a Coffee under its terms, including any payment, fee, cancellation, or refund rules.

Availability, changes, and data loss

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Features may change, fail, be rate-limited, or be discontinued, and synchronization can be delayed by connectivity, permissions, browser storage, Google Drive, Azure, or other providers. LightWorks does not guarantee uninterrupted access, successful recovery, preservation of shared permissions, or error-free calculations. Keep independent backups of content you cannot replace.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LightWorks disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LightWorks is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of access, or harm resulting from recipes, allergens, equipment, AI output, synchronization, sharing, or third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Ending use and service protection

You may stop using the app, sign out, revoke Google access, clear browser data, or delete Drive files you own. Those actions have different effects, as described in the Privacy Policy. LightWorks may restrict API or AI access to protect the service, enforce limits, comply with law, or respond to misuse.
